Board Spotlight:

Eddie Goldsberry

Edward N. “Eddie” Goldsberry, CPA, joined The Parish School Board of Directors in 2004. Eddie is a Shareholder and Director of Pannell Kerr Forster of Texas, P.C. He has written numerous articles on tax issues in funding medical and special schooling costs for families with children with disabilities as well as articles on international tax and tax policy. He is a frequent speaker at international tax and business conferences.

Eddie’s strong financial background and his leadership skills serve The Parish School Board in numerous ways. Eddie is President of the Board and serves on the Finance Committee as well. Eddie’s perspective on the work of The Parish School is enhanced by the fact that he is a past Parish Parent; his son Joshua attended TPS from 2001-03. He understands first-hand the issues that face our children and families. Eddie is a frequent visitor to the school and participated in the graduation ceremonies in May.

Katherine Schrock

One of the many duties of the Auxiliary President is to serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors.  Katherine Schrock, the 2007-08 Auxiliary President, was born and raised in Houston and has been married to her best friend Joel for 15 years. They met as freshmen at Texas Tech and are parents to Kiersten, a 7th grader at Briarwood and Jack who is a Croc at The Parish School.

Katherine chaired the very successful Parish gala last year and this year is enjoying her role as leader of the Parish Auxiliary. When she isn’t involved with Parish School “happenings,” Katherine is busy with her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, the Woman’s Club of Houston (she launched The Very Beary Holiday Market and Luncheon which benefits Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital and Life Flight) and supporting Briarwood.  If that doesn’t sound like enough to keep her busy, Katherine works with her mom and sister with their family business, managing commercial property in Houston and San Antonio.

Katherine is a shining example of the adage, If you want to get something done right, ask the busiest person in the room.

Ann Neyland, M.A. CCC-SLP

Ann Kollenberg Neyland has over 30 years of experience working with children with speech, language, and learning disorders. She joined the staff of Speech Language Remediation Center in 1988 and works with a wide range of children (toddlers through teens) with social skills, speech, language, and learning differences, including dyslexia. Ann also provides consultation services to schools and presents workshops. She holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is licensed by the State of Texas.

Ann spent 12 years on staff at The Briarwood School, where she provided speech and language therapy, teacher supervision, and curriculum development. She has served on the board of the Houston Branch of the International Dyslexia Association.

Ann chairs The Parish School Board Head of School Evaluation Committee and also serves on the Scholarship Committee. If you want to see Ann’s eyes light up, ask her about her five grandchildren.  The Parish School is blessed with the great talent that Ann brings to our board.

Lorena Kubera

Lorena Kubera has been on the Parish school board for two and a half years and brings multiple talents to the board. Lorena is the parent of current Parish student (an Explorer) as well as having two other children. Lorena is a long time Parish parent in that her son came to the school seven years ago when he was just 3 years old, so she understands the issues of a child with communication differences first-hand.

Lorena holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University and is currently the Director of Business Strategy and Planning for the Americas Personal Systems Group for Hewlett-Packard Company, which made her the perfect person to head up the TPS Board Strategic Planning Committee.

Her strength in analytical thinking has been an asset to the board and for the past six months, she has done an outstanding job of leading her committee to structure a business plan that will guide the school over the next five years. If all that isn’t enough, she also serves as secretary for the Parish Parent Auxiliary. We are grateful that Lorena shares her many talents with us.
