October 2007
A great big “Thank-You” to all parents and staff for their cooperation in helping complete a very successful first full month of school. Your participation in Orientation, Parent Education, the September Coffee Chat, Cottage Coffees, the Auxiliary meeting, parent social, classroom observations and a variety of volunteer positions has been fabulous. All of this in just one month! Many “connections” have been made and I am hopeful this will continue throughout the year and beyond.
We have successfully launched our “Fitness and Dance” after school program for elementary students under the instruction of Laurie Breimayer and we are in the process of establishing a Brownie Scout Troop through the efforts of elementary parent Stephanie Boates. We were disappointed that the Animation class did not have sufficient enrollment to get off the ground. If you have an elementary student in level V-VIII who is interested in learning how to tell stories using animation, please consider this unique learning experience for your child for the spring semester.
Our preschool staff and students are thrilled to have the new outdoor play equipment. Once installed, this equipment will give our students additional experience to develop large motor skills, turn taking skills and will definitely give them lots to talk about!
Over the last month I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know our new students, our new TPS parents and reconnecting with our returning students and their parents. I look forward to the upcoming events in October and continuing to get to know each of you better.
