Webinar recording from November 12, 2020, featuring Dr. Alain Katic
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that as many as 1 out of 5 children experience a mental health disorder in a given year, and an estimated $247 billion is spent each year on treatment and management of childhood mental health disorders.
Experts recommend behavioral therapy, like specialized learning environments or one-on-one counseling sessions, as a first line of treatment for many mental health disorders. However, as children enter the classroom where academics become more demanding and behaviors could begin to escalate, many families may start to consider if medication is right for their child.
During this one-hour virtual adult education session featuring Dr. Alain Katic, he discusses medications that are commonly used to treat ADHD, anxiety and mood symptoms in children, and addresses questions from the audience.
